Scary Stories in Chinese Language
Podcasts, and YouTube channels
As Halloween gets closer, I put together some podcasts and YouTube channels where you can listen to ghost stories and other spooky tales in Chinese. I’ll share a few picks, and at the end you’ll find a handy vocabulary list to help you discover more similar shows. If the podcasts feel too advanced, start with the YouTube channels since many have English subtitles.
Podcasts
《有点害怕的故事》 (A Bit Scary Stories)
Hosts and listeners share personal spooky experiences and folklore; approachable tone, good for casual listening.
《灵异话茬儿》 (Paranormal Chatter)
A conversational storytelling show about urban legends and listener stories. It blends suspense with a light touch of humor, and often features call-ins.
YouTube
《老王说|灵异故事》 (Lao Wang Tells Ghost Stories)
Long-form narrated spooky tales, folklore, “strange news,” and one-hour compilations; clear audio for learners.
《灵异电台》 (Paranormal Radio)
A Mandarin audiobook and storytelling channel that shares ghost stories, mysteries, and strange tales.
