HSK Resources + My First Video Transcript

Welcome to my 8th newsletter! If you're currently preparing for your HSK exam, you might encounter more hurdles than those who took the exams a few years ago. The newest HSK 3.0 testing system has been introduced, but it's not entirely clear which testing centers have adopted the new system and which ones are still using the older version. Therefore, before diving into your exam preparation, it's essential to contact your testing center to double-check. While exams in China are likely based on the new requirements, many places outside China have yet to implement the new rules. You can find the closest testing center to you on this website.

From time to time, I check online to find new practice materials, mock tests, or any official or semi-official books that could help you prepare for the new HSK exam. Yesterday was one of those days, and I went down this rabbit hole for several hours, only to come out empty-handed again. New HSK books might still be years away, and what's even sadder is that even mock tests aren’t provided by any official source or testing center for the new tests.

关于新版本考试的学习资料，直到昨天我还在查询各个渠道信息，不过目前没有找到任何官方推出的书或相关资料，就连汉语水平考试的官网也没有对应的模拟题。

So what can you do in a situation like this? You have to turn to older material. And the best place I’ve found so far is JYang’s website, where he has links to everything you need to prepare for your exam: books, mock exams, audio recordings, word lists—you name it, it’s there. He also has links to the newest HSK (3.0) 7-9 test samples, which I haven’t been able to locate myself. So if you’re preparing for your exam, this is the place to turn to. If you’re looking for books to prepare for the exam, my recommendation is still the HSK Standard Course series (which can also be found on JYang’s website, or you can order a physical copy from Amazon). If I find new mock tests for the newest testing system or better books to prepare you for the newest HSK exams, I’ll let you know first here.

虽然新版考试用书寻找无果，我还是发现了一个超级实用的资料库。在这个网站你可以找到：汉语水平考试教材，模拟题，听力音频，词汇表，3.0版（第7级-第9级）的样题等等，几乎关于汉语水平考试的一切。这是目前我找到的最全的汉语水平考试资料查询网站，如果以后有新发现，也会第一时间在推文里和你分享。关于新版考试的用书，现在我还是推荐《HSK标准教程》（在前面提到的网站可以找到电子版，亚马逊也可以买到实体书。）
