Longevity Monk（唐僧 Tángsēng ）

Longevity Monk is one of the main characters in the Chinese classic novel Journey to the West. He is based on the Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang. Tang Seng is compassionate and kind, with a strong determination to travel to the West to retrieve sacred Buddhist texts. However, he is also stubborn and rigid, and he is repeatedly deceived by demons and monsters.

唐僧，是中国古典小说《西游记》中的主要人物之一，原型为唐朝时期僧人，玄奘。唐僧慈悲仁爱，取经意志坚定，但同时顽固迂腐，多次被妖魔所骗。

Monkey King (孙悟空 Sūn Wùkōng)

Another character from Journey to the West, Monkey King is the eldest disciple of Longevity Monk. He is a mischievous and powerful figure with a magical staff. With Wukong being one of the most successful video games this year (which is also heavily inspired by Journey to the West), I expect that this might be one of the more popular Chinese-themed costumes this Halloween.

Hua Mulan (花木兰 Huā Mùlán)

Hua Mulan is a legendary heroine from Chinese folklore, best known from the "Ballad of Mulan" (木兰辞 Mùlán Cí) and widely known in the West through Disney adaptations.

花木兰是中国古代传说中的女英雄，最早出现于南北朝的《木兰辞》中，后因迪士尼电影《花木兰》而在西方广为人知。

White Snake (白蛇 Báishé)

She is a white snake that has cultivated itself into a spirit and transformed into human form, often referred to as White Lady (白娘子). Her costume typically consists of a white dress and a white veil.

白蛇，来源于中国四大民间爱情传说之一：《白蛇传》，传说中是一条修炼成精的白蛇，化身为人形，所以常常被称为白娘子。白娘子的装扮是一身白裙和白色头纱。

Heibai Wuchang (黑白无常 Hēibái Wúcháng) – “The Black and White Impermanence”

Heibai Wuchang are a pair of ghost messengers who work in the underworld, responsible for capturing souls and assisting in rewarding the good and punishing the wicked. Hei Wuchang wears a black robe, while Bai Wuchang wears a white robe, and both carry shackles and handcuffs.

黑白无常，是工作在阴间的一对鬼差，专门缉拿鬼魂，协助赏善罚恶。黑无常身穿黑色长袍，白无常身穿白色长袍，两人手中常拿脚镣手铐。

Nine-Tailed Fox (九尾狐 Jiǔwěi Hú)

A mythical creature that takes the form of a fox with nine tails and six feet.

九尾狐是中国古代神话传说中的神异动物，有四只脚和九只尾巴。

Ox-Head and Horse-Face (牛头马面 Niútóu Mǎmiàn)

Niutou and Mamian are ghost messengers in Chinese folklore, responsible for capturing souls and overseeing their punishment, rewards, and reincarnation in the underworld. Niutou has the head of a bull and the body of a human, while Mamian has the head of a horse and the body of a human.

牛头马面是中国民间传说中负责掌管阴魂在阴间受刑赏和投胎的鬼差，是传统文化中勾魂使者的形象。长相分别是牛头人身、马头人身。
