Stand-up comedy is still a pretty new thing in China. It only really started gaining popularity in the 2010s, thanks to shows like Rock and Roast (θ„±ε£η§€ε€§δΌš). Since then, the scene has had its ups and downs β€” but as of 2025, it looks like stand-up is officially back!

New shows like The King of Stand-up Comedy (ε–œε‰§δΉ‹ηŽ‹ε•ε£ε­£) and Stand-up Comedy and Friends (θ„±ε£η§€ε’ŒTaηš„ζœ‹ε‹δ»¬) have brought a fresh wave of energy to the scene.

You can find many episodes of these shows on YouTube β€” though most of them only have Chinese subtitles. If you’re looking for English subtitles, the official Xiaoguo Comedy channel has quite a few episodes with English translations, so it's a great place to start.
